On Thursday, October 20, 2022, the Chamber hosted Securing a Safer City: An Inclusive Neighborhood Growth* Issue Forum at the University City Science Center. Over 120 members of our regional business community gathered to join in an interactive dialogue that addressed crime, drug use, public safety, and their combined economic and social costs on the city, intending to further a more collaborative approach to improve public safety, save lives, and stimulate regional economic prosperity.

Expert speakers included Erica D. Atwood, Senior Director, Policy and Strategic Initiatives, the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Criminal Justice and Public Safety; Scott Sauer, Chief Operating Officer, Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA), and; Jennifer Griffin, Vice President, Public Safety, Temple University. The forum was moderated by Kenneth Anderson, Vice President, Civic Affairs, the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia.

Tiffany Bacon, Program and News Director, WURD Radio, was in attendance to interview guests about their diverse perspectives on the importance of the Chamber’s Issue Forum personally, professionally, and for the region at large. The recorded interviews aired throughout the day to strengthen awareness in the community.
