• Since September 2020, the Chamber has led bi-weekly calls to connect leaders in the Pennsylvania Department of Health with major Greater Philadelphia hospitals and healthcare organizations to collaborate on our region-wide approach to COVID testing and vaccine distribution.
• The Chamber worked closely with the City of Philadelphia to vaccinate as many Philadelphia-based employees as possible. We reached out to owners and operators of the largest office buildings and office parks in the region to gauge their interest in hosting employer vaccination clinics for tenants and tenants’ families. We received interest from several locations, made introductions between Vybe Urgent Care, 1600 Market Street, and the Wanamaker Building, and facilitated a connection between Jefferson Health and the Navy Yard, resulting in the launch of their vaccination site.
• The City of Philadelphia and The Chamber launched the Ready.Set.Philly! Initiative—a near-term, consumer confidence and reopening strategy to bring employees, tourists, and other patrons back into the core employment nodes in the City to jump-start economic activity.

• The Chamber continues to offer monthly opportunities for health systems and provider organizations to collaborate on a region-wide approach to the health challenges presented by COVID-19. In addition to connecting participants with members of the Pennsylvania Department of Health as we have been doing since September, 2020, the calls have now expanded to include other pertinent health leaders such as Philadelphia Acting Health Commissioner, Dr. Cheryl Bettigole; Merck’s Director of U.S. Vaccine Policy, Dorothy Miller; and Pfizer’s North America Viral Vaccines Medical and Scientific Affairs Lead, Mary Moran.
• Set. Philly! (RSP!), a collaboration including the Chamber and a broad and diverse coalition of businesses and organizations, focuses on reopening and relaunching Philadelphia’s economy, restoring public well-being, and reinvigorating day and nighttime activity in downtown Philadelphia. The goal of this initiative is to help provide information and direction to encourage, support, and promote a safe return to Philadelphia for work and play. RSP! plans to achieve the following set of results by December 2021:
  • • Increase the average office building occupancy by 60% to 65%.
    • Increase Center City monthly hotel occupancy to 65%.
    • Increase SEPTA monthly ridership to 50%.
    • Increase foot traffic on the streets of Philadelphia to 85% of pre-pandemic levels.

Progress on these goals, and the initiative as a whole, will be monitored by partnering with Center City District, the City of Philadelphia, the Greater Philadelphia Hotel Association, University City District, SEPTA, and employers and building owners who will report monthly data.
