The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia  continues to prioritize efforts that move us toward the key Recharge & Recover PHL aspiration of building the region’s reputation for investing in and growing small, Black- and brown-owned businesses. In support of this aspiration, the Chamber launched the Diverse Procurement Collaborative Network (DPCN) in April 2021 to increase the business community’s focus on supplier diversity spend with Black and brown businesses and the density of Philadelphia’s minority business ecosystem.

Since its launch, the DPCN continues to build on its mission to cultivate a community of business leaders and diverse suppliers committed to inclusive procurement strategies, facilitate the exchange of best practices, and create accountability through benchmarking of annual spend with diverse businesses.

Program Structure

Collaborative participants make a multi-year commitment to increase the diversity of their supplier networks and their spends with diverse vendors.

Throughout the calendar year, the Chamber hosts four Diverse Procurement Collaborative Network Gatherings. These in-person gatherings allow members of the DPCN to meet, connect, share best practices, and establish relationships that could lead to new business opportunities.

At the end of each year, the Chamber holds its annual Diverse Procurement Collaborative Reception. This in-person reception acknowledges the impactful work done through the Diverse Procurement Collaborative Network (DPCN) over the course of the year. DPCN’s leaders, cohort, supporters, and regional professionals, gather to hear about the progress of key goals, including collective regional spend goals with minority suppliers, and ultimately to be a part of a growing movement to cultivate minority business growth through supplier diversity and inclusive procurement practices.
