A message from the Chamber’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Chellie Cameron, to our regional business community as we work together to achieve our Chamber 2028 vision.

Dear Chamber Community,

Greater Philadelphia's momentum is undeniable, but momentum only matters if it creates opportunity for everyone.

The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia (the Chamber)'s work is focused on building our region as a top global destination where every business and resident can grow and thrive. But today, too many people in our area struggle to find opportunities that allow them to improve their quality of life. Last year's Brookings market assessment showed we missed out on 104,000 traded sector jobs over the past decade, and Greater Philadelphia ranks last among major U.S. metros in upward mobility for low-income residents.

Together with our members, investors, and partners across the region, we are diligently working to change that. Attracting bold, transformational investment to Greater Philadelphia is key to the Chamber's work, and you're seeing it unfold right now.

Growing our Regional Economy

In March, we celebrated the news that TerraPower Isotopes selected Greater Philadelphia's Bellwether District for a $450 million flagship radioisotope manufacturing facility that will produce cancer-fighting treatments and further cement our region's status as a global hub for life sciences innovation. TerraPower Isotopes' investment brings cutting-edge innovation, 225 high-quality, full-time jobs, and long-term career pathways for our regional workforce.

In addition, we welcomed two new companies to our region just this week. Yesterday, Bonduelle Americas announced its U.S. Growth Hub, marking the North American expansion of an over $2B global food company and one of France's most recognized household brands. The company projects the creation of over 100 corporate jobs in the region within three years. And, earlier this week at the SelectUSA conference, CTIBIOTECH, a French bioengineering company, announced the establishment of a North American headquarters in Greater Philadelphia and the creation of 35 specialized biotech jobs in the region within three to five years.

Each of these announcements is an exciting win resulting from deep collaboration across the public and private sectors, and I am proud of the role the Chamber played in making each of these announcements happen.

Thinking Regionally

None of this work happens in isolation, Greater Philadelphia's long-term economic success depends on stronger regional coordination.

On Tuesday, we celebrated the launch of the Greater Philadelphia Growth Partnership, a regional initiative years in the making. By bringing together leaders from all five Southeastern Pennsylvania counties around a shared, data-driven regional growth strategy, our region is now positioned to compete and win, creating jobs, and growing and attracting businesses.

Never before have we convened with this level of collaboration, focus, and sustained commitment to advancing regional growth, and I could not be more proud of what we have built together.

Supporting Philadelphia's Workers

On Tuesday, May 19, 2026, Philadelphia voters will have a chance to expand retirement security for hundreds of thousands of working residents. Ballot Question 1 would create the Philadelphia Retirement Savings Program, known as PhillySaves, giving roughly 200,000 workers access to a workplace retirement savings account for the first time. Right now, about one in three private-sector workers in Philadelphia has no retirement plan at work. PhillySaves would change that through a simple auto-enrollment IRA, with no cost to employers. We are grateful to Council President Kenyatta Johnson for his leadership on this important issue, and the Chamber is proud to support this effort to strengthen financial security for Philadelphia's workforce.

Thank you for being part of this work and for helping shape the next chapter of Greater Philadelphia's story – one where our residents, our city, and our region all thrive.

In Service,

Chellie
