PHILADELPHIA (September 26, 2022) – The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia (the Chamber) is pleased to announce that Michael Innocenzo, President and CEO of PECO, will serve as its next Board Chair beginning October 2022. Innocenzo is a business and community leader who has made significant contributions to the Chamber’s mission since being appointed to the Chamber’s Board in 2018 and subsequently to the Executive Committee in 2019.
Innocenzo is responsible for PECO’s overall performance, serving 1.7 million electric and 545,000 natural gas customers in southeastern Pennsylvania. Based in Philadelphia, PECO is Pennsylvania’s largest electric and natural gas utility and a subsidiary of Exelon Corporation, the largest fully regulated utility company in the nation. PECO employs approximately 2,900 people, owns $11 billion in assets, and generates approximately $3.1 billion in annual revenues. Throughout his 34-year tenure with the company, Innocenzo has served in a wide range of operational leadership roles of increasing responsibility prior to assuming the CEO role, including Chief Operating Officer.

Innocenzo is an active business and community leader who is passionate about removing barriers and expanding access to opportunities for all community members. He serves on the boards of the Philadelphia Free Library, the Philadelphia Police Athletic League (PAL), the Franklin Institute, the American Gas Association, and the Electric Power Research Institute. He is also a member of the Satell Institute and has advisory roles with Drexel University and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Widener University and an MBA from Villanova University.
