Dear Friends,
As we enter the season of Thanksgiving, we truly have so much to be grateful for. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, there have been so many unsung heroes among us who have kept our lights on, ensured food was stocked at our grocery stores, and helped us stay healthy and safe. These workers are the invisible helping hands that truly make our city and region work.
This sentiment holds true for our colleagues in our own organizations. The workers who are so important to making everything move forward despite the obstacles. They are not in the limelight or given awards, but come to work every day – virtually or in-person – showing initiative, creativity, and tenacity.
There’s been a lot of hand-wringing of late around the “Great Resignation”. While there are numerous reasons colleagues move on (and sometimes there is nothing we can do about it), I for one, am recommitting myself to be in service to our employees and grateful for all they do on behalf of the Chamber and its members.
Finally, I want to thank you, our membership, for the extraordinary ways you help make our Chamber, City, and region better each and every day. From mentoring small business leaders to making a commitment to reskilling and hiring under-employed residents, you make a real difference in lives of so many and for that, I am truly thankful.
