A message from the Chamber’s President & CEO Rob Wonderling to our community about the Chamber’s upcoming Annual Meeting 2020.

Dear Friends,

Autumn is a time of year with activities you can usually set your watch to. But without our normal back-to-school routines, tailgating at Eagles games, or Terror Behind the Walls, it feels like only the changing leaves and crisp air have signaled the shift from summer to fall.

There is, however, a fall tradition that you can still count on during these unusual times: the Chamber’s Annual Meeting 2020. And while we’re in our 220th year, this Annual Meeting will truly be a reflection of our current climate, focusing on both our region’s immediate needs for inclusive recovery and how we can shape a vision for the future.

Our speakers this year will help us to imagine a Philadelphia region that is home to the jobs of the future, invests in Black, brown and local businesses, supports digital literacy, boasts the healthiest and most livable community, and continues to solidify our status as a global hub for cell and gene therapy.

These ideas will be presented by a range of leaders and among them we’ll be highlighting three phenomenal women. Two as featured speakers – Maya Martinez-Davis, President of US Pharmaceuticals for GSK, and Valerie Smith, President of Swarthmore College – along with our newly elected Chairperson, Susan Jacobson of Jacobson Strategic Communications.

The virtual format of this year’s event has also presented a unique opportunity to extend an invitation to our entire regional community. Since we’re not limited to how many leaders we can fit into a ballroom, Annual Meeting 2020 will be free to attend and open to the public. We encourage leaders across our region to invite your full teams to start discussions about how your business can support inclusive recovery and a prosperous future beyond the pandemic.

Stay safe, connected, and healthy, and continue to let us know how we can help.

Rob
