Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, many of our middle market members have shifted their production lines, donated proceeds, and done more to make a difference in their community during these trying times.

American Solutions for Business

As a distributor of print, promotional products, and other services, American Solutions for Business saw an opportunity to reimagine their supply chain to get our region’s health care providers the personal protective equipment that is so desperately needed, now producing masks, gowns, and goggles.

Comcast Business

The shelter-in-place and social distancing orders have completely uprooted daily routines, especially that of students due to school closures. Many students in Philadelphia do not have access to a home computer to continue virtual learning. To ensure that all students who attend the 220 District-led public schools across Philadelphia can continue their education, Comcast CEO Brian Roberts and his family have donated $5 million to the School District of Philadelphia to help purchase 50,000 laptops for students to transition to virtual learning.

ESM Productions

ESM Productions and LiveNation, along with the Middleton Family, teamed up with some of PHL’s biggest stars to bring live entertainment directly to our living rooms, all while supporting a great cause. Last Thursday, May 21, PHLove celebrated the talent and resilience of the Greater Philadelphia region while raising awareness and support for the PHL COVID-19 Fund. The variety show raised over $1.5 million, with 100% of every dollar raised going directly to support the urgent and pressing needs of the community. The variety show brought in top acts such as Daryl Hall, QuestLove, and Patti Labelle among many others. Missed the show? It’s not too late to donate. Check out performance highlights and learn how you can donate to the fund at Philafound.org/covid-19/phlove.

Holt Construction

As COVID-19 spreads across our community, the ability to test for the virus is of the utmost importance. Holt Construction is working to support the need for safe, sturdy, sterile facilities for testing through the production and assembly of mobile testing facilities. These facilities will allow for protection of both the public and health care professionals while providing sanitation stations, temporary kitchens, and more. Holt hopes to design, build, and deploy 12 units per week to help increase access to safe testing facilities across the country.

S1 Medical

Becoming a B Corp business is no easy task to accomplish, let alone accomplish during a pandemic and global crisis. S1 Medical achieved its B certification on May 1, joining just 3,000+ businesses worldwide to achieve this certification. In the past two years, the company has worked to reduce their carbon footprint, improve employee experience, support philanthropies in their communities, do business with other like-minded organizations and more. Most recently, the company created and donated over 500 protective masks to two local Philadelphia-based hospitals to support essential workers.
