The following letter was sent by the PHL Neighborhood Growth Project to neighborhood, business, and civic leaders.
My belief that everyone in our city deserves great care is what led me to launch vybe urgent care nearly three years ago. That’s why it was so important that we be in neighborhoods that typically lack healthcare providers or access to quality care. Today, I am proud to have vybe urgent care centers in Port Richmond, South Philly, Center City, University City, and soon in West Philadelphia.
Neighborhoods are the places we care about most. We live there, children grow up there, and they’re filled with people and places that make Philadelphia what it is. Entrepreneurs who start businesses in their own neighborhood are more likely to hire locally, and, as catalysts for economic growth, also help to lower youth violence and crime.
We recognize the importance of a strong, clean, and safe neighborhood in our ability to attract and retain the highly skilled professionals we need to provide care. But just as importantly, we want to ensure a safe place for our customers and community partners to be at all hours of the day. Neighborhood residents need to have working street lights, to know their cars are safe overnight, and to feel comfortable utilizing the businesses in their local commercial corridors.
I truly believe that all areas of the City of Philadelphia can thrive – just as I believe everyone deserves great care. But Philadelphia can only thrive if equal attention is paid to all neighborhoods of the city and all residents are given the support necessary for growth. Join the PHL Neighborhood Growth Project on February 21 for a conversation about how we can create safe and healthy neighborhoods.
