For college students seeking to launch their careers in Philadelphia, traditional career events can be intimidating: The formal attire, the transactional nature of the resume hand-off, and even the networking aspect can present new and unfamiliar challenges for students who are about to enter the workforce. That’s where Campus Philly comes in.

Since 2004, Campus Philly has helped regional college students fall in love with Philadelphia by connecting them to internship and job opportunities in an unintimidating, accessible way. Through a variety of touchpoints, including on- and off-campus presentations and events, along with our virtual job fair, our events seek to welcome and include all students.

During orientations and welcome weeks, we table at various partner colleges to introduce ourselves, our mission, and all that Philadelphia has to offer to first-year students. We throw a huge party in Dilworth Park annually, called CollegeFest, to kick off the new school year in an engaging way, and encourage all students to explore the city. We return to campus for various presentations and events throughout the year, notably our headshot tour, where we provide free headshots to students on their campuses.

Our off-campus Launch Events seek to rewrite the script of traditional career events. All our events are free to attend, provide free food, and are hosted at venues conveniently accessible by public transportation. Create Philly, Spark Philly, and Wired Philly are all resume-free zones, where students and employers are encouraged to dress down. Students submit their resume via Dropbox prior to the event, so their conversations with employers happen organically without the urge to hide behind a
resume. When students enter our events, we provide free, blank business cards, which they can fill out and share with recruiters or other students. Each of our events are intimate, providing advice and tips from real professionals in an environment that feels safe and fun.

Students can even connect to opportunities from the comfort of their dorm room during Intern Philly, a virtual job and internship fair that happens twice a year. From October 1 to 15, students are encouraged to visit our career site to find hundreds of opportunities, including full-time or part-time jobs, along with internships. Campus Philly’s employer partners are encouraged to post their gigs in time for Intern Philly, though our career site is a great place to find local talent all year long. Intern Philly is sponsored by JP Morgan Chase and is part of a series of events presented by Comcast NBC Universal.

Hiring for an exciting role? Create an employer profile today for free! Thousands of students from local colleges and universities are accessing our site regularly, with a 250% spike in traffic throughout Intern Philly.
