The following letter was sent by the PHL Neighborhood Growth Project to neighborhood, business, and civic leaders.
The population of Philadelphia is slowly and steadily growing.
But here’s the thing – our population growth is slower than MOST large cities across the United States. And we need to do something about it.
We can make our city more attractive to businesses and new residents by investing in a dedicated “Neighborhood Revitalization Fund” (NRF) that will work to beautify our city and make it greener and cleaner.
The NRF will support neighborhoods in removing urban blight, provide resources for tree planting, rain gardens, power-washing, help businesses to boost their curb appeal, and reach other “green city” goals. A Philadelphia that is greener and cleaner will bring in more businesses, young families, and others to our city.
When we all work together to support every neighborhood and business in our city, we will all grow, thrive, and take part in a shared prosperity.
