This week, we completed the third program year of Pay It Forward: Mentoring Our Future Leaders.

Pay It Forward is a unique cross-industry mentorship program, which pairs young professionals with executives from Chamber member companies. We are now accepting applications for next year’s cohort. Potential mentees and mentors are invited to apply.

Who can participate

Mentors

Mentors are high-level executives from Chamber member companies (member company must be in good standing). Mentors are respected members of the region’s business community and understand the Chamber’s mission, vision, and goals.

Mentees

Mentees are young professionals who are engaged with the Chamber, usually either through Chamber member companies (member company must be in good standing) or through the Young Professionals Council (YPC). Non-Chamber and Non-YPC members may also be considered for the program. Mentees are committed to leadership development and enhancing personal, professional, and civic engagement to impact regional growth.

Program structure

Program participants meet formally as a group and are also encouraged to meet one to two hours per month on an individual basis. Pairings are made based on personal and professional goals and interests, competencies, experience, and expectations.

Time requirements

The time requirements for the relationship are determined by the mentors and mentees (Partners). Partners decide how often they get together, in what format, and how long each meeting should be. The Chamber holds an orientation session for mentees and three to four formal Partner gatherings throughout the course of the program year.
