For businesses with revenues falling between $10 million and $1 billion, it can be difficult to find resources to help grow the company. No longer having the luxury of startup assets or the benefits and incentives of a larger business, companies in the middle market are often left to fend for themselves. The Chamber’s Middle Market Action Team (MMAT) aims to combat this.

MMAT is leveraging regional assets and connectivity to become a top U.S. region for middle market growth through four strategies and corresponding actions:

  1. Develop social capital among middle market executives in the region.
  2. Enhance opportunities for growth-oriented small & mid-size businesses to increase their competitiveness & develop strategies for growth.
  3. Advocate at the federal, state and local levels to make it easier to do business in the region and create a competitive advantage.
  4. Build awareness and inform middle market companies and key stakeholders about the importance of the middle market to our region’s growth and prosperity.

MMAT focuses on four priority areas, meeting periodically throughout the fiscal year to work toward the above goals. Priority areas include:

    Focused on increased proactive talent planning
    strategies and visibility of job opportunities within
    middle market organizations.
    Focused on strengthening knowledge of financing
    opportunities at various stages of growth and how
    best to access the capital needed to support strategic
    growth planning.
    Focused on building social capital amongst middle
    market executives to learn and share best practices.
    Focused on identifying and supporting policies that
    ssist with the continued growth for
    Greater Philadelphia’s middle market businesses,
    as well as provide opportunities for the middle market
    to contribute its unique perspective around
    legislative activities.

At the hand of MMAT’s thought leadership, the Chamber presents a suite of programs geared towards the needs of middle market businesses designed to help them grow faster.
