In media terms, content is defined as “information and experiences that provides value for an end user/audience in a specific context.” Whether spoken or written, content presents an illustrative message that can be viewed either  positively or negatively. With this being said, it is important to be mindful of the manner in which content is portrayed. Inundated in the world of the internet, content can be and at times detrimental to one’s career and reputation; no one is exempt. So easily accessible, content, via search engines, can literally overwhelm a reader with not only trivial but vital information as well.

In regards to brand management, content is one reason why a company’s image rises or falls. We live in a time where people need to have immediate information access – DVR to skip television advertising, and download music rather than play a stereo. However, content, the written word should be given more consideration. Attractiveness to one’s brand should not be created haphazardly; it is carefully and creatively crafted considering the targeted audience.

Whether it is on a website, blog, Tweet, Instagram, etc. innovative, concise, well-written content will engage and have an audience follow a tweet, or search deeper into a website. The goal is to reach human beings while driving profitable customer action. Hence, Content Marketing makes a person stop, read, think, and behave in the manner that you wanted them to.  Therefore, marketing is impossible without great content.
