The Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce (GPCC) announced Comcast NBCUniversal as the recipient of the GPCC’s first-ever Diversity & Inclusion Award. Comcast NBCUniversal has been selected for its continued commitment to diverse hiring practices and for initiatives to expand and promote diversity and inclusion. David L. Cohen, Executive Vice President of Comcast Corporation, accepted the award during a meeting of the Chamber’s Board of Directors on February 20, 2014 at the Bellevue in Philadelphia.

“It is an honor to be recognized for our commitment to expanding and enhancing diversity and inclusion within our organization and for the strides we have made in our diverse hiring practices,” says Cohen. “At Comcast NBCUniversal, diversity is embedded in our culture and at the core of what and who we are as a company and as individuals who represent and work on behalf of all members of our community.”

Created in 2014, the GPCC Diversity & Inclusion Award was created to honor those who best exemplify the standards set forth in the Chamber’s Diversity and Inclusion Statement. All companies who completed the Diversity and Inclusion Self-Assessment Tool distributed to regional businesses in January 2013, were considered for the award.
