We are proud to announce the launch of the Entrepreneur’s Resource Directory (ERD), an online directory that connects entrepreneurs with the critical resources needed to launch, grow, or run a business in the Greater Philadelphia region.

The directory, which is funded by a grant from Startup PHL and supported by Comcast Business, allows start-ups to easily search and sort through various resources and locate funding sources, technical expertise, professional service providers and facilities. In addition, ERD provides the organizations and providers listed as resources with direct access to manage and update their listing information, ensuring that the directory remains up-to-date.

“Greater Philadelphia has a vibrant, growing entrepreneurial community,” said Andrea Allon, Chief Operating Officer of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. “It makes sense to have one, comprehensive, up-to-date directory for entrepreneurs looking to start a business here and the Chamber is happy to bring that to fruition.”

Deemed by a committee of entrepreneurial thought-leaders as one of five smart proposals designed to energize Philadelphia’s start-up scene, ERD will replace and improve upon outdated and unsearchable resource directories that currently exist for Philadelphia start-ups.

“One of my top priorities is to make doing business easier in Philadelphia. When we get information, tools and services into the hands of small business owners more quickly, they can spend more time doing what they do best – creating jobs that will drive our economy,” said Mayor Michael A. Nutter. “This new directory is one more tool available to support small business growth through access to information and resources.”

“The Entrepreneur’s Resource Directory is a valuable tool not only for entrepreneurs but also for those organizations that provide support to them,” said Anne Bovaird Nevins, Senior Vice President, Marketing & Business Development, PIDC. “Ensuring that these two groups are aware of each other and able to connect is critical to fostering a dynamic entrepreneurial community.”

“We are proud to support the entrepreneurs and small businesses in this region that help to make Greater Philadelphia such a vibrant place to live and work,” said Kevin Conmy, Vice President of Comcast Business. “It is our hope that this directory will provide information and access to services, expertise and funding that will help new businesses thrive.”
