Yesterday, the U.S. Senate passed the Border Security Economic Opportunity and Investment Act (S 744), a bipartisan piece of legislation which advances the needs of U.S. businesses competing in a talent-driven, global marketplace.  Specifically, the bill includes a number of key provisions to significantly increase the number of visas for highly-skilled workers, graduates, and entrepreneurs.

With more than 50 percent of the residents in the Greater Philadelphia Region employed in knowledge and innovation based industries, the CEO Council for Growth believes that smart immigration reform is a key element to our region’s competitiveness, small business creation and entrepreneurship, as well as our continuing ability to attract the brightest and most innovative minds from across the globe to live, learn, and work here.

The CEO Council will continue to have an active voice in the immigration conversation as the House takes up the discussion over the summer months.
