The Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce (GPCC) congratulates SEPTA, the 2012 APTA Transit System of the Year, on the delivery of the last of its new Silverliner V Regional Rail cars. The new fleet, which was delivered in February, will help further strengthen our region’s transportation infrastructure and improve service for riders.
The fleet is part of SEPTA’s 120 new, ADA compliant train cars which feature expanded interiors and windows, additional entrances, and screens used to display information about travel.
The GPCC also applauds the Hyundai Rotem Company and the Sojitz Corporation for their investment in the South Philadelphia manufacturing facility where the Silverliner V cars have undergone final assembly.
