If you are like most Philadelphia area businesses, you’ve witnessed the mobile evolution, but how do you take full advantage of it?
One thing is for sure. If you don’t take advantage of mobile soon, your business is going to be left behind.
If you still need convincing of just how important mobile is, consider that 19% of all searches today are performed on mobile phones. In some verticals, like restaurants, for example, 47% of all searches are done via mobile.
And, mobile users are much closer to the buying stage than desktop users. In that same restaurant category, for example, 60% will convert to a purchase within one hour of the search and 84% will ultimately convert to making a restaurant purchase. (Source – Nielsen)
Yet despite these statistics, only 7% of all restaurants have a site that is optimized for the smaller screen of the mobile phone. Most companies simply display their desktop websites for a mobile user. Often, desktop sites are busy and difficult to navigate on the smaller screen of the mobile phone, thus resulting in a poor user experience. In fact, according to Google, 60% of all visitors to a site that is not optimized for mobile will bounce—leave the site immediately. That’s a lost opportunity for your business and a bonus to your competition.
