Award-winning journalist and mental health advocate Jane Pauley will be the featured speaker at Penn Foundation’s tenth annual Autumn Event fundraiser on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 7:30 pm at Calvary Church Auditorium (820 Route 113, Souderton).

Proceeds from this event benefit Penn Foundation’s Commonwealth Fund, and helps the organization provide compassionate, responsive and innovative care to over 10,000 individuals each year.  The evening will include the presentation of Penn Foundation’s ninth annual Adventures in Excellence Award to Frederick E. Schea, President and CEO of First Savings.

The evening’s festivities will begin with a Spectacular Silent Auction at 5:30 pm, featuring one-of-a-kind experiences and specialty items that highlight the best our region has to offer.  Proceeds from the Silent Auction will benefit Camp Courage, a summer camp for children with special needs sponsored by Penn Foundation in partnership with Camp Men-O-Lan in Quakertown.

About Jane Pauley

A respected broadcast journalist for over 30 years, Jane Pauley’s career has spanned morning, primetime, and daytime television, making her one of the most recognizable personalities in America. Pauley’s network television career began as co-host of NBC’s Today Show. She was founding co-anchor of Dateline NBC and host of The Jane Pauley Show. Partnering with AARP, Ms. Pauley is currently contributing to NBC’s Today Show in a series “Your Life Calling,” which features people who have reinvented the way they work or live.  She is the author of the New York Times bestseller, Skywriting: A Life Out of the Blue, a memoir of self-reflection and wellness that describes her role as a mental health advocate.

Ms. Pauley is a member of the Broadcast and Cable Hall of Fame and has been honored with multiple Emmys and other awards, including the prestigious Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Journalism. She is married to Doonesbury cartoonist, Garry Trudeau, and has three grown children.
