The Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce (GPCC) is pleased to announce that Andrea Mitchell, NBC News’ Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent and host of “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” will be the featured speaker at the 212th Annual Meeting on Wednesday, October 24, 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Since joining NBC News in 1978, Mitchell has provided extensive coverage on politics, foreign policy, intelligence and national security issues for NBC News. She covered the 2000 and 2008 presidential elections and has reported from North Korea, Afghanistan, the Middle East, Bosnia, Kosovo, Pakistan and Haiti. She also conducted a series of exclusive interviews with Cuban President Fidel Castro, and covered the United Nations debate leading up to the Iraq war.

“It is a great pleasure to host Ms. Mitchell as the featured speaker for our 212th Annual Meeting,” said Chamber President and CEO Rob Wonderling. “Ms. Mitchell has an unprecedented record of excellence in reporting, and we look forward to exploring the latest national and regional issues with her and to celebrating the Chamber’s achievements as the region’s leading business advocacy organization.”

More than 1,500 business professionals are expected to gather at this event to celebrate the Chamber’s membership of 5,000 organizations across 11 counties in three states. Mr. Wonderling will review the Chamber’s accomplishments from the past year. In addition, the business community will welcome new GPCC Chairman of the Board of Directors Daniel K. Fitzpatrick, President & CEO, Citizens Bank of PA/NJ/DE/NY, and recognize outgoing GPCC Chairman William P. Hankowsky, President and CEO, Liberty Property Trust. Mr. Fitzpatrick will welcome current Board members and introduce the newest members of the Board of Directors, and discuss the Chamber’s top accomplishments for the coming year.
