I was recently invited to present The Global Philadelphia Association at a networking event of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. Held just before the start of the business day, between 8 and 9 a.m., the meeting gathers area professionals, Chamber members and their guests to showcase their companies. In a room of 50 folk, you have 30 seconds to introduce yourself and present your product or company. Afterwards, attendees can effectively network with interested parties over a breakfast of coffee and cakes with those whom they wish to target.
This dynamic Chamber event, supported by some strong sponsors, is an opportunity to showcase the various affiliates and programs of the Chamber – Select Greater Philadelphia, the Young Professionals Network and the CEO Access Network, to name a few, as well as the many benefits of Chamber membership. Among the members I met were an educational non-profit leader developing programs for inner city kids, a Chinese business man relocating from New York, a business specialist from the Free Library and several Chamber Cost Savings program representatives, including UPS, Office Depot and Sprint. The event was both fun and effective, leaving me energized to come to the next one on Thursday June 7, 2012.
