The days are darker and there is a chill in the air. Winter is around the corner, but it is not too soon to start planning your summer vacation. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training (TNT) endurance sports training program is now recruiting for great summer destinations.

Beautiful Lake Tahoe, San Diego, and Lake Placid are among the scenic destinations to choose from when signing up with TNT for the summer season of marathons, triathlons, and cycling. During their stay, participants can enjoy all the culture and attractions that these destinations have to offer.

While in town for the Dodge Rock “n” Roll San Diego Marathon and ½ Marathon to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, participants as well as their friends and family can enjoy some of the city’s highlights, including Balboa Park, the famous San Diego Zoo and Sea World. Lake Tahoe is the setting for America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride. Enjoy the many beach activities that are offered including parasailing, jet skiing and boating. Plus there are hundreds of hiking and mountain biking trials all around the lake.

TNT participants receive four to five month comprehensive training program with certified coaches and a supportive group of teammates and staff. In return, participants give help and hope to thousands of blood cancer patients and their families by raising funds to support research and patient services. Participants can choose to walk or run a full or half marathon, participate in a triathlon, or a 100 mile century bike ride. Participants are also given advice and ideas about how to meet their fundraising goals and get a personal fundraising website; plus TNT arranges airfare and hotel accommodations to the event of their choice.

For people who are looking for a program to fit their busy schedules, there is a TNT Flex program, a customized, online training option developed by TNT’s renowned coaches.

Since TNT began in 1988, more than half a million participants have raised more than $1.2 million to help LLS advance its mission to cure blood cancers and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

Teams are now forming the summer season, which also includes St. Luke’s Half Marathon in Allentown and the Philadelphia Triathlon.
