If you currently receive your benefits from Benefit Services, Inc. (BSI), a subsidiary of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce and renew on January 1, 2012, please expect to receive information from BSI and its billing administrator CBDI, Inc. regarding the open enrollment process throughout the month of October. 

What Is Open Enrollment?

Open Enrollment is your once-a-year opportunity to make changes to your current benefit choices and to review which family members/employees you are including on your health plans. The open enrollment renewal packet distributed in late October includes information regarding any changes to benefits or costs of the benefit plans. This year, it will also include additional prescription options as enhancements to last years’ plans. 

Changes you request during open enrollment will take effect January 1 (if that is your anniversary date). The plan year begins on January 1 and continues through December 31, as it applies.

Please be aware that decisions made during Open Enrollment are generally binding for the entire plan year. An individual may not make any changes until next year’s Open Enrollment period unless he or she has a Qualified Life change (e.g., marriage, birth, adoption, etc.) and notifies Benefits Services, Inc. of such a change within 30 days from the date of the event.

What information will I receive?

Prior to the open enrollment start date in late October, you will receive a letter which will explain the Open Enrollment process. Soon after, you’ll receive a Renewal Packet which will include current plan rates, proposed rates for the New Year, and alternate plan options for your consideration. You will also have the opportunity to meet and discuss your plan and options at a Seminar that BSI will be hosting on November 7. There will be more information about the Seminar posted on the GPCC website soon.
