The GPCC held two local legislative committee meetings to discuss the new city lobby registration regulations that go into effect on July 1, 2011. The Chamber testified before the Ethics Committee on June 15. In addition, we followed up with a letter to Councilwoman Marian B. Tasco requesting a six-month delay in the implementation date.
Barring a Court Order, these regulations will be in effect July 1, 2011, and record keeping requirements will commence on that date.
GPCC has been advised that anyone with concerns about the impending regulations, which far exceed state requirements, should write directly to the Ethics Board as these proposed regulations will be on their July 20th Board meeting agenda. Please ask the Board to revise the regulations based on comments they received at the June 15th meeting so that the regulations mirror state requirements.
