Fair Share Act promotes a more competitive business climate for Pennsylvania
Today, the Pennsylvania General Assembly approved legislation to re-enact the Fair Share Act, an important measure to restore fairness and balance to the Pennsylvania legal system. Governor Corbett has indicated he will sign the bill into law.
The Fair Share Act will help to create a legal system in Pennsylvania that is fair to both plaintiffs and defendants, and one that holds parties responsible for the harm they cause.
Over the years, as a strong and consistent advocate for civil justice reform, the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce (GPCC) worked closely with lawmakers and a broadbased coalition of stakeholders to gain passage of this important legislation.
GPCC supports a public policy agenda that includes legal reform and other measures that will promote economic growth and job creation throughout Pennsylvania. We share the belief that more businesses will choose to remain, expand and locate in Pennsylvania as our business climate becomes more competitive in the areas of taxation, health care costs and fairness within our legal system.
