Nearly 300 business professionals gathered at The Academy of Natural Sciences recently to hear from Governor Tom Corbett as he shared his vision for the state and region at the Chamber’s annual “A Conversation with the Governor” event.
The conversation, which was moderated by Marty Moss-Coane, host and executive producer of WHYY’s Radio Times, addressed topics such as the state budget and proposed budget cuts, tuition vouchers, and Marcellus shale drilling.
While Governor Corbett assured the audience that he does not like the proposed budget cuts, he argued that being a governor is about having “to make tough decisions.” These proposed cuts, he explained, will help get the state’s budget under control and will make Pennsylvania, and the region, a more competitive and friendly place in which to live and do business.
