Philadelphia Federal Credit Union hosted a Shredding Day event on Saturday, April 30 and collected approximately 4 tons (7,700 lbs.) of paper at the Northeast Philadelphia branch, located at 8025 Roosevelt Boulevard.
Members of the credit union and community residents were invited to drop off up to three boxes of personal paper documents for secure destruction and recycling. PFCU hired Secured Document Destruction to facilitate the event and safely shred documents on the premises. The paperwork was then recycled, helping to save trees, water and oil.
PFCU is committed to providing educational resources to the communities we serve and offers Shredding Day events to help prevent identity theft and fraud. In addition, PFCU offers free financial education seminars for schools, civic groups, community associations, churches, community development corporations, social service organizations, employer groups and more.
