More than 1,400 regional business leaders joined the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce at its 210th Annual Meeting on Friday, October 15 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, as the Chamber welcomed its new Board Chairman, William P. Hankowsky, Chairman, President and CEO of Liberty Property Trust, and recognized outgoing Chairman David L. Cohen, Executive Vice President, Comcast Corporation.
Chamber President and CEO Rob Wonderling explored the Chamber’s initiatives for the upcoming year, and encouraged attendees to join the conversation in the Chamber’s advocacy campaign called RELAY. RELAY is a sustained, multi-year effort to advance our region’s ability to attract, retain and grow jobs. The initiative asks key stakeholders and residents in the region to help identify positions on four key issue areas: The Business Climate in Greater Philadelphia, Infrastructure, Workforce and Quality of Life. The campaign encourages ongoing dialogue and online participation from all regional business members via a blog – www.relayphilly.com and Relay’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
The program also featured NBC News’ David Gregory, Moderator of “Meet the Press,” who reviewed the upcoming gubernatorial races.
The Annual Meeting is the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce’s largest signature event of the year and celebrates its membership of 5,000 organizations across 11 counties in three states.
