This year celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the Chilean and American Chamber of Commerce, and we look forward to celebrating this special occasion with a great party at the 11th Annual “Friend of Chile” Award Luncheon on Thursday, November 20th at the Union League. The Chilean and American Chamber is honoring the Governor of Delaware, Ruth Ann Minner.
The Chamber has had many successes and moves from strength to strength. It plays a particularly important role in promoting bilateral Chile-U.S. business, which is at the heart of the remarkable partnership between the countries.
During the past year, Chilean trade with the Delaware River Valley exceeded $1 billion. Of this, fruits and vegetables were valued at $855 million. Last year, Chile shipped over 58 million cases of fruit to the ports of the Delaware River. The region derives significant and increasing economic benefit from the strong and growing trade relationship between Chile and Delaware.

.::Mayor Nutter to Join Chilean and American Chamber of Commerce to Commemorate its 20th Anniversary::.
Mayor Michael Nutter will open the doors of the Mayor’s Reception Room in City Hall on Thursday, November 13th to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Chilean and American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Philadelphia, and to inaugurate “Viva Chile in Philadelphia”, a week of activities to promote Chile in Philadelphia.
The Ambassador of Chile, The Honorary Consul of Chile in Philadelphia, the Chamber Board of Directors, Members and staff will join the Mayor at a reception ceremony that aims to strength the commercial and cultural ties between Chile and Philadelphia. The ceremony will be held between 5:00 and 7:00pm.
During the receptionceremony, Chilean Ambassador Mariano Fernandez will award The Orden de Bernardo O’Higgins, Grado Comendador, the highest civilian honor for non-Chileans, named for Chile’s liberator and founding father. The award must be approved by the President of Chile and is the first such commendation a Philadelphia Mayor has ever received from the Chilean Government.
