Caryn Barnes Honored with the NJSWEP "Growing Great Women in the Garden State" Award

Caryn Barnes, LSRP, Principal and leader of the environmental team in Langan’s center city Philadelphia office, was recently honored with the prestigious “Growing Great Women in the Garden State” award at the 9th annual New Jersey Society of Women Environmental Professionals Gala (NJSWEP) at the Wine Room of Cherry Hill, NJ.

Each year this award is given to one woman who is admired for her commitment to the field of environmental protection, conservation, and research; her contributions to communicating and sharing knowledge; her dedication to mentoring the next generation of environmental leaders; and her innovative approach to science and/or policy.

Caryn Barnes Honored with the NJSWEP "Growing Great Women in the Garden State" Award

Caryn Barnes, LSRP, Principal and Leader of the environmental team in Langan’s Philadelphia office, was recently honored with the prestigious “Growing Great Women in the Garden State” award at the 9th annual New Jersey Society of Women Environmental Professionals Gala (NJSWEP), held at the Wine Room of Cherry Hill, NJ.

Each year this award is given to one woman who is admired for her commitment to the field of environmental protection, conservation, and research; her dedication to mentoring the next generation of environmental leaders; and her innovative approach to science and/or policy.

At the Gala there was an overwhelming turnout of support for Caryn by a diverse group of SWEP members, industry peers and Langan colleagues. From the glowing introductions she received, to fact that, for the first time in history, attendance for the Gala sold out, the event was a true testament to the respect and recognition that Caryn has garnered over the years.

Caryn Barnes, Principal/Vice President of Langan Engineering & Environmental Services will be honored by the New Jersey Society of Women Environmental Professionals (NJSWEP) as the 2015 recipient of the prestigious “Growing Great Women in the Garden State” Award.

Each year this award is given to one woman who is recognized for her commitment to the field of environmental protection, conservation, and research; her contributions to communicating and sharing knowledge; her dedication to mentoring the next generation of environmental leaders; and her innovative approach to science and/or policy.

The award will be presented at the NJSWEP 9th Annual Gala on June 24th in Cherry Hill, NJ.

Langan Welcomes Jennifer Caffrey, PE, As New Senior Project Manager

LANGAN is pleased to announce the addition of Jennifer Caffrey, PE to our Center City office.

Recently recognized as Lehigh University’s Civil Engineering Millennium Woman Engineer, Jenn brings her diversified project portfolio, encompassing 13 years of experience, to LANGAN. Jenn has been intimately involved in the success of several high-profile projects in the Philadelphia region, including the Cira Centre office high-rise in the University City section of Philadelphia, and the Metroplex Corporate Center in Plymouth Meeting, both for the Brandywine Realty Trust.

Jenn joins us as a Senior Project Manager in our Site/Civil Engineering Division, where her unique knowledge and technical expertise will serve to oversee a team of talented civil engineers. Jenn is recognized and trusted in the Philadelphia A/E/C industry by colleagues and clients, and is actively involved with industry organizations including Future City Philadelphia and the ULI.

Gateway to Camden/Campbell Soup Company Headquarters Receives ULI Award for Excellence

Campbell Soup Company Headquarters, part of the Gateway to Camden Development has been awarded one of the first Willard G. “Bill” Rouse Awards for Excellence by ULI Philadelphia. Architectural design by Jacobs (KlingStubbins) created a fresh look by expanding the Employee Services Building by 80,000 square feet as part of the Gateway Redevelopment for Camden. Amenities to the re-envisioned facility include an employee café, a company store, conference rooms, a credit union office, a fitness center, and an education center. In addition to the new attention-grabbing logo display that stretches across the length of the building, the headquarters also now includes many sustainable design features, achieving LEED Silver certification. Langan provided Survey, Geotechnical Engineering, and Construction Inspection services for the project and, in addition provided Site/Civil Engineering services for the entire campus Master Plan.

MD Anderson Cancer Center Receives 2014 USGBC Emerald Award

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services is pleased to announce that the MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper University Hospital will be the recipient of this year’s USGBC Emerald Award in the Urban Green Project category. The Langan team of engineers, geoscientists and landscape architects worked with project architect Francis Cauffman on the design of this world class, eco-friendly facility, located in Camden, NJ. Patients at the new Center will experience a team approach to cancer care with easy access to advanced clinical technologies and supportive services, all in an “Art and Healing” environment which features over 100 pieces of original art by New Jersey artists, and a rooftop Tranquility Garden.

The MD Anderson Cancer Center opened its doors in October of 2013, providing specialty cancer care and education to its local communities. Beyond superior healthcare, the Cancer Center strives to inform the local public on the importance and benefits of sustainable living.
